Our annual Christmas In The Caribbean fundraiser - held last year at Pirate's Cove - was once again a huge success, resulting in a total donation exceeding $4200 in money and toys.
INTERNATIONAL BEACH CLEANUP 2013 Seventeen of our Treasure Coast Parrot Heads participated in the annual cleanup at Jensen Beach, contributing a total of 62 volunteer hours and picking up an estimated 60 pounds of trash. (l to r: Jan, Don, Mary, Linda, Michael, Wendy, Ed, and Eileen; not pictured: Bonita, Rob, Bill, Karen, Dave, Kendra, Dee, Donna, and Leo)
RELAY FOR LIFE 2013 The TCPHC continued its efforts this year in support of the American Cancer Society, raising a total of more than $4000, bringing our six-year total to $46000.
Treasure Coast Parrot Heads are PHun-Loving PHolks who wear tropical shirts and hats, enjoy cheeseburgers, margaritas and the music of Jimmy Buffett. We also make our paradise a better place to live by supporting Community & Environmental Charities And, we have a blast doing it! Congratulations to Ed and Wendy's "Limin' Place", nominated in the Trop Rock Music Awards for Best House Concert Venue in 2013 - they didn't end up winning, losing out to a larger and longer-established venue, but the nomination is indeed something to be proud of!
TCPHC Members - check out the Bylaws & Procedures page for links to the Newly-Revised Bylaws and Administrative Procedures.
If you want a better idea of what Parrot Heads are all about, take a look at the video above - Parrot Heads (Together We Fly)" is a song written, produced, and sung by Trop Rocker Jimi Pappas with the video produced by DJ George and DJ Lisa Schott. (Lisa is President of the Parrot Heads of Central Florida.)
The song is a tribute to Parrot Heads all over the world, who have taken the phrase "Party With a Purpose" to levels that most certainly have exceeded the hopes of our original founders. It's the lead off track to the album "Taking Care Of Our Own", which can be purchased and downloaded in The Music Hut at: www.BeachFrontRadio.com/TakingCareOfOurOwn.cfm. All profits from the album support Phins To the West's DJ Jeff/Taking Care Of Our Own Fund, a fund that helps DJ Jeff's fellow cancer victims.
(Tragically, DJ Jeff lost his fight against cancer on October 23, 2013.)
(The Treasure Coast Parrot Head Club Inc. is a Florida Non-Profit Corporation incorporated July 30, 2008, and a federal tax-exempt 501(c)7 social organization. TCPHC is a chapter club member of Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc., the national organization of Jimmy Buffett fan clubs. The clubs support community and environmental concerns while providing social activities for people sharing a common interest in the tropical lifestyle exhibited by Jimmy Buffett's words and music.)
